Using 436.io

436.io is a free, independent tool that runs pages through Google’s PageSpeed Insights API and turns the results into a prioritized report. By using it, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

Only scan what you’re allowed to

You agree to only submit URLs or sitemaps for websites you own, operate or otherwise have permission to test. Don’t use 436.io to:

• Scan a website without the authority to do so.
• Try to bypass, automate around or abuse the rate limits or daily quota protecting the shared API key.
• Use the service for anything unlawful, or to scan sites that host illegal content.
• Attempt to interfere with, overload or gain unauthorized access to 436.io’s infrastructure.

We may block, rate-limit or refuse requests from any visitor or address, at our discretion, without notice.

The shared API key

Every scan goes through a single PageSpeed Insights API key that we hold and pay for, shared across all visitors and protected by per-IP and daily limits (see the FAQ for current numbers, which may change). We can adjust, pause or reduce those limits at any time, for example if usage threatens to exceed what the shared key can reasonably support.

No warranty

436.io is provided “as is,” free of charge, with no warranty of any kind - including, without limitation, no guarantee of accuracy, completeness, availability or fitness for a particular purpose. Findings and recommendations are guidelines based on the PageSpeed Insights data available at scan time, not guarantees: review each one in the context of your own website, users and constraints before acting on it. PageSpeed Insights itself is Google’s service, governed by Google’s own terms; 436.io has no control over its uptime, scoring methodology or accuracy.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, 436.io (and whoever operates it) is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site - including decisions made based on a report it produced. Use it as one input among others, not as the sole basis for a business or technical decision.

Availability

This is a small, independently run project without a service-level guarantee. Features, limits and the site itself may change, be interrupted or be discontinued at any time.

Trademarks

436.io is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google. “PageSpeed Insights” and “Lighthouse” are trademarks of Google LLC, used here only to describe what 436.io is built on.
